Just last month I got the new Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone. It replaced an outdated version of the phone, that I didnt realize was outdated until I got the new one! Wow, what a difference! I never knew I could love a phone this much!
Since I am basically obsessed with my new Android, I want to make sure I am protecting it in everyway that I can. This includes getting a good case for it, a screen protector and not getting any madware! Did you know you can get nasty madware (similar to viruses) on your phone?

Sure enough after some research, I found that you can in fact download some nasty stuff madware (mobile adware) that uses aggressive techniques to place advertising on your phone. Madware gains access to personal information, location, and delivers advertising based on your preferences. Even if Google Play has an App in their store and it looks safe, it can still have madware (the percent of Apps with madware has grown 210% in the last 9 months!). Some common Apps like Angry Birds, Sams Club and Flashlight have madware!
I learned about Madware the long way. After downloading App after App of shopping, weather, social media and more, I thought to myself, "I wonder if there are repercussions to downloading all these apps?" After downloading 30 applications later, I realized I probably should be inspecting some of these Apps first for madware.
